Who else is exhibiting in Baku

Beyond the pavilion nations, local reporting lists stands and exhibitors from countries including Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Bulgaria, South Korea, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. Counting delegations as well as companies, the organizers put the total number of countries represented at 53.

The delegation list is broad too. Fifty-nine official foreign delegations from 39 countries attended the opening, up from the 45 delegations from 33 countries the organizers had announced before the show. For a region where defense diplomacy usually happens bilaterally, three days in Baku have become a rare multilateral meeting point between NATO members, Gulf states, Central Asian republics and both Russia and Ukraine.

Why the lineup matters

Two things stand out in this year’s list. The first is the scale of the Western presence. American and British prime contractors historically skipped ADEX, and their arrival, on this scale and with sponsorship money attached, treats the Caspian region as a market worth competing in rather than a Russian preserve. The second is who shares the floor: Russian and Ukrainian exhibitors, Pakistani and Indian-region delegations, and Gulf and European buyers all walk the same halls, which few other shows manage.

Pakistan’s pavilion follows a year of intensifying Baku-Islamabad defense ties, and Uzbekistan’s presence fits the pattern of Central Asian states diversifying their suppliers, a shift we covered when Uzbekistan took delivery of its first C-390 transport.

The regional blocs on the floor

Read as blocs rather than flags, the list breaks into four groups. The NATO group, led by Turkiye’s 50-plus companies and joined by the US, UK, Italian, Czech, Slovak and Romanian pavilions, is the largest and the newest at this scale. The ex-Soviet group, with Russian, Belarusian and Uzbek pavilions, reflects relationships that predate every other tie Azerbaijan has. The Asian group runs from China’s national pavilion to South Korean and Singaporean stands. And the Gulf is present through the UAE’s EDGE Group, an increasingly active buyer of and partner to the same Turkish and Azerbaijani firms exhibiting nearby.

Delegations tell a similar story at government level. The 59 official delegations from 39 countries outnumber the exhibitor nations, which means dozens of governments came to shop or to talk without bringing industry of their own. Pre-show registration already included delegations from Afghanistan and Pakistan alongside the United Kingdom, per Army Recognition, a spread few defense exhibitions can put in one room.
