The SAR 56 is the company’s main 5.56 mm rifle. Sarsılmaz says it combines experience from its earlier SAR 223 series and from mass production of the MPT 76. The MPT-76 itself is Türkiye’s national 7.62×51 mm infantry rifle programme, designed by the state-owned MKE and in Turkish Army service since 2014. Sarsılmaz markets its own production version as the MPT 76 SH. The SAR 308 and SAR 15T are aimed at customers that use 7.62×39 mm ammunition.
Submachine gun: SAR 109T
The SAR 109T is a 9×19 mm submachine gun weighing 2,750 g without a magazine, with a 248 mm barrel, 705 mm overall length and a 30-round magazine. In May 2026 the Doral Police Department in Florida added it to its inventory. Sarsılmaz describes this as the first Turkish submachine gun in US police service.

SAR 762 MT. Sarsılmaz says the family was developed with fully domestic design and engineering to meet Türkiye’s machine-gun needs, for both infantry and vehicle or vessel mounts. The A to E variants are different configurations of the same weapon. It is in Turkish Armed Forces service. Some media have claimed use in Ukraine; this has not been officially confirmed.
SAR 556 MT. The newest member, presented at SAHA 2026, is a 5.56 mm light machine gun developed for infantry and platform use. Official user data has not yet been published.
SAR 127 MT. The 12.7×99 mm heavy machine gun is the company’s biggest step into platform weapons. According to Sarsılmaz, it completed qualification and is used on the remote weapon station of the ALTAY main battle tanks delivered to the Turkish Land Forces on 28 October 2025. The company says it can fire in single-shot and automatic modes, can be fed from either side, has a quick barrel change and has a stated effective range of 1,830 m. An aircraft version, the SAR 127 MT AIR, was integrated onto the HÜRKUŞ-C through TR Mekatronik, a company set up with Turkish Aerospace, according to Sarsılmaz’s DSEI 2023 statement.

From small arms to platform weapons
The machine-gun family shows how the company’s role is changing. Its SAHA 2026 group presentation included remote weapon stations from BEST Defence and cannon work through TR Mekatronik, alongside ammunition investments in Düzce. For European readers, the relevant point is that Sarsılmaz now competes not only with pistol makers but also with suppliers of vehicle-mounted machine guns such as FN Herstal and Heckler & Koch in the general-purpose and heavy classes. Its documented users are still mainly Turkish.
