Indra Sistemas, trading as Indra Group, is a Spanish defence, aerospace and technology company headquartered in Alcobendas, Madrid, known for radars, air traffic management systems, Eurofighter avionics and its Minsait digital services arm. Indra reported revenue of €5,457 million for 2025 and about 62,000 employees in more than 140 countries, according to its own investor presentation. Defence revenue rose 103% in the first half of 2026, helped by acquisitions of TESS Defence and AERTEC, by the Eurofighter programme and by radar projects in Germany and Ukraine, according to the company. Space revenue rose 398% after Hispasat and Hisdesat were consolidated. Indra ended June 2026 with net cash of €1,033 million and kept its 2026 targets of more than €7,000 million in revenue, EBIT above €700 million and free cash flow above €375 million. A dividend of €0.30 per share was approved for 2025.

What Happened to the Escribano EM&E Merger?

Indra’s board weighed a combination with Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E), the defence group founded by Ángel Escribano, who was then Indra’s executive chairman. SEPI flagged a conflict of interest on 18 March 2026, and EM&E formally withdrew on 19 March, The Objective reported. Escribano resigned as chairman and director on 1 April, according to Indra’s H1 2026 release. No merger with EM&E is in place.

Indra Products and Programmes

Indra’s Lanza family of 3D radars is its best-known sensor line. The company said in 2015 that NATO ordered two Lanza LTR-25 deployable radars for €22 million, and that Indra had a backlog of more than 20 Lanza units at that point (Microwave Journal). On the air side, Indra announced in December 2021 a contract worth more than €180 million to equip 20 new Spanish Eurofighters under the Halcón programme with the ESCAN radar and the DASS defensive suite, plus fleet maintenance (Indra). On 27 March 2026 Rheinmetall and Indra signed a memorandum to deepen cooperation in military vehicles for European and Latin American forces, with a joint venture planned later in 2026 to bid for a Spanish Army order of up to 3,000 trucks, Rheinmetall said.
